The real gem of Salama House is its unique Balinese-style garden lounge and the airy treehouse yoga deck that overlooks a sparkling pool nestled among lush greenery. Whether you fancy a refreshing swim, a leisurely read, a sunrise yoga session, or a relaxing sundowner, this space has it all. What sets Salama House apart is its unwavering commitment to nature. The entire property operates on solar power, harvests precious rainwater, and diligently recycles and composts all food waste.
Upon stepping into Salama House, you'll immediately feel at home. The cottage is tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay, from a cozy patio and lounge to a fully stocked kitchen and dining area. Thoughtful touches like a picnic hamper, a tree swing, books, and board games add to the homely charm.
Two of the three bedrooms are air-conditioned with ensuite shower bathrooms, both with mosquito nets and overhead cooling fans.
The third bedroom doubles up as an office and does not have air-conditioning but includes a cooling overhead fan and mosquito net. For those who need to stay connected, the office includes a wide-screen monitor, extension cables, and there is WiFi throughout the cottage.
During your stay, the entire cottage, garden, pool area, , ample parking area and one-acre plot will be exclusively yours to enjoy, although you'll quickly discover that the house has been adopted by three delightful kittens, so it's essential to be a pet lover. No additional animals are allowed to ensure the comfort of the resident cats.
A cook is not included amongst the house staff at Salama House although a casual can be provided for an additional fee. It should also be noted that the house does not have hot water (Watamu is warm enough).
